Refined the eye candy on the portfolio
First task of my morning was fixing the keyboard event for navigating the image grid on my portfolio. The original template had a row size of 10, and unfortunately that was what I made the event for. I rewrote the up/down keypress logic and then started on tweaking the CSS more; and adding eye candy.
Once I worked out the fades on everything, I discovered it didn’t run very well in IE8. This led me to the decision to remove all fading from IE browsers (not just <8), and I think it was correct. The site is snappy in IE, and buttery smooth in everything else I test against.
