Yesterday I moved my reef with the help of Jay (Celine’s boyfriend). It took a few hours to break down the system and get it to the new pad.
Today I need to finish the setup; there’s only heat and water movement at the moment. This includes making approximately 30gl of new water. We couldn’t take it all, there was stairs.
Sadly only my first pair of fish survived. Stress, I guess. No corals or inverts died.
I’m writing this from my phone; I hate moving. Key pieces of my bed weren’t unloaded from the truck, so we’ve been on a mattress on the floor for two days. Next time I’m hiring movers.
Uhaul screwed me over on reserved dollies, making it impossible to move my reef. Today I have to figure out a solution.
I found out lastnight that I currently have the Featured Photo on OttawaStart. It’s nice to have a photo showcased like that.
I like my new cards. They’re a pretty heavy stock which is nice. I think the next batch will have the grey box modified, either by embossing it or having a different texture.
This morning I decided I’d join Model Mayhem with the intention of growing my portfolio once I can find some local models to work with.
Last night Jen and I attended an Ottawa Flickr group meeting at the Prescott. Fun times, beer and nerding out over all types of cameras with good people.
I ordered a set of business cards. I hope the printer handles the high res png of the ‘logo’ (my name) properly. I tweaked the twitter integration on my portfolio a little; adding a regex to enable urls and a small css change. It’s still light weight and a nice demo.
That’s right; I’m one of those people now. I’m not sure if I can micro-blog well, but I’m going to give it a try. It’s not going to appear on this blog; I’m going to use it solely for photography and I’ve integrated it into my portfolio.
My HTPC has been running Vista x64 for a few weeks. It has generally been a pleasure; however there have been odd performance issues from time to time. The newest blow to the usability has been Media Center’s inability to play uSirius streams from the Media Player library. This worked flawlessly with the x86 (32bit) version of Windows, and it’s working on my laptop.
What the hell?
