I’m dropping a few net cliques I partake in. One less OCD behavior.
Out with the nonfunctional, in with the promising. I received a CPR Aquafuge2 (Large) today, and boy is it large. There’s no space on the back of my aquarium now. This appears to be a great setup, but I’ll have a better idea over the next week or two. Right now I have a 5gl jug of water mixing so I’ll probably pick up some chaeto algae for the new addition tomorrow.
It’s not really exciting news, but it’s another step in the overall setup.
I decided to start advertising on Facebook to the locals. I’m pretty confident this is the start of something new.
This past Monday there was another meeting at the Preston for the Flickr Ottawa group. We were a little late showing up, I was running late as usual. The timing meant all the good seats were taken and we were at a table by ourselves for a good portion of our stay.
Eventually some other people arrived, and sat at the table beside us. After we both ate, we started chatting amongst the tables. This always makes the timeĀ more enjoyable, and I used my camera a little during it. I had a disappointing meatball sandwhich. It’s supposed to be a ’special item’, but I could make it at home with cheap ingredients out of cans. Fail.
When the beer was gone, so were we.
Sunday afternoon was bright and warm, so Jen and I went for a walk to the Rideau Canal. I haven’t been on it since the water froze, and Jen suggested hot chocolate as we neared a serving area; so on we went. I was a little nervous with my camera at first, but after a few feet I moved to the area the skaters had been using and had no traction problems.
Jen ran into a friend, who was out with his neice. We were both in line for beaver tails, and ended up sitting together once we had our treat. Ricardo had his new Canon 5DmkII with a 50mm f1.4 on it; a great setup for taking pics of his neice. After we chatted a little he passed me the camera and I took nice snapshot.
After that, Jen and I were on our way back to my place because it was getting cold. When we finally made it home; we busted out Guitar Hero4 and played the Tool set. I love that set.
Last night I made my want to Camp Fortune, across the river in Quebec. It’s small by mountain standards, but large by ’small hill’ standards; a fine compromise. I rode for a few hours with a local I met in the lift line. I need to change my bindings setup a little; and I think I’m going to give the toe strap a sampling.
I’m supposed to go with Jen tomorrow. I can’t wait.
