Last night Jen and I went to The Prescott for a Flickr group meeting. It was our first time attending and we met some nice people and drank beer. There was talk of different systems and techniques and physical limitations of lenses. It was interesting and entertaining.
I had a set of Altimax Arctic tires put on my Mazda3 today. It’s gonna be glued to the ground.
… and take pictures with this scope attached to my dslr for a >1200mm focal length (depending on zoom) at f12 (fixed).
One of my pictures from the past winter has been published in the new Ottawa map from Schmap. Link
My stretched lobes are infected; sigh. It’s the usual … bacterial shit I get occassionally on wide or deep wounds. I guess the area and type of stretch counts as one of those, somehow.
So, I’m off to a walk-in clinic. Fun!
On Sunday I experienced the first BSOD from my HTPC. It was pretty random, so I figured just a random glitch in memory handling within one of the apps, which took it down (there was nothing useful in the dump log). A few hours later I started getting a BSOD with a sysport.sys error.
Not awesome.
The system became very unstable, BSOD’n on boot. On a reboot the RAID controller flagged an hdd as damaged so I pulled it out and let the RAID run in a 0 stripe for a couple of days. Last night I picked up a (surprisingly) matched hdd to the one in the first bay, giving me 2 pairs of different models/brands. That should be good for failure odds.
Rebuilding the array is no problem / awesome. I had to drop the overclock on my cpu to only 500mhz for the process to be stable.
Over the weekend I finished stretching my ears to 0g with a very nice pair of coco wood tapers. One ear is slightly infected, from lack of proper cleaning. Oh well, in a week or two I’ll swap the tapers for some nice plugs or tunnels.
Fucking awesome.
