I picked up the 16gb 3g model this evening after spending most of the day thinking about using one as my gps/audio source in my car. I read a few forums and after some hunting I decided it was the solution I was looking for. It’s not perfect, but it’s probably the best suited for what I’m after which is mobile audio and maps; not turn by turn directions (hate that shit).
I have to get the Dice i-Mazda-R2 (R2) unit to act as a bridge to the Mazda3’s headunit via the Satellite port; which means I’ll be rethinking the Sirius integration into the overall setup (if it even happens now).
I’m looking forward to putting this all together.
Oh yeah, I wanted to upgrade my phone and get something with a better camera so this kinda covers a few things on my ‘to-do’ list.
Last night on my way to a pet store I was rear ended by a french lady that wasn’t paying attention / going too fast. She followed me from light to light after getting off the 417W; at the second light she hit me at roughly 30-40kph. It was hard enough to push my car forward like 10′.
When I got out of the car I was surprised to see there was no cosmetic damage beyond a bent license plate. The woman seemed to think everything was fine “Look! You have a strong car, it’s fine!”. Yeah lady… plastic is what cars are made of.
I gotta get it checked out at the dealership today; probably first thing I do. I’m assuming there’s no real damage to the car, ’cause I found that there’s a nice steel beam behind the plastic bumper that bolts to the subframe; so the impact should’ve gone straight to kenetic energy and that push… however, that’s just my guess and I don’t make cars. Hopefully the mechanic at the dealership says it’s all fine.
I can’t get over that the woman said “I saw it go orange and thought you’d go through”. When I came to a stop, the light was red. What the fuck.
It was a sad weekend, but I’m glad I had my camera. All the pics turned out pretty good. I like the ones of Abby the most, but the one of my Grandma is awesome. I really need to start working on a proper portfolio.
My Thule fix point rack arrived yesterday afternoon; which made it a 2 day over seas delivery. For the cost of shipping; this is kinda expected but still, I didn’t think I’d have the car rack installed for the weekend. I’m very happy with my decision and I love that I can easily switch to the aero bars if I want (yay UK design!).
Unfortunately the site doesn’t carry the bike racks I’m after, but generally everything else is there.
Worth checking out.
I’m starting to dream about getting more work done. Ahhhhhh the timing! It sucks. I gotta get some car racks and new snowboard gear for myself before the season starts. Yesterday I ordered up a board/bindings that Jen and I are splitting on. We checked out the local options before relying on the net. The best boards I saw at our price point where Rossi Sonars which aren’t bad; just not as good as I was looking for.
I think the first tat to get done will be a portrait of my Grandparents on my fore arm, followed by another flower on the top of my left hand; or maybe a shamrock.
The solution is to order from the UK! The peeps at roofrackshop.com have the best prices I could find online if you’re looking for a complete system and can’t find it used on ebay.
I have the euro equivalent of the Thule Podium 460 called a Rapid Fixpoint XT Low. Even after conversion from GBP, the Canadian price is double. That’s awesome! My whole order shipped over the ocean for $40 more than buying just the foot pack in Canada.
I finally filled a big jar Maegan gave me 4 years ago. It was like an accomplishment; and dumping it all out was fun. Jen and I took a drive to find the Coinstar machine at a grocery store.
I had no idea the jar had so much money in it. A pic of the money voucher will be added once I get it off my phone (can’t find my bluetooth dongle).
