I setup my new raid this weekend. It was a bit of a pain in the ass, ’cause the manual for the controller said I could use 1 drive as a master, but the bios said otherwise. I had killed my original raid 5 minutes before 9pm, so I had to wait until Sunday morning to get a fifth 500gb drive to use. I went with a Western Digital instead of another Seagate, because I didn’t want a constantly on power led. I used the raid controller the night before to mirror my backup drive to the Seagate via raid1 cloning; which I then put into my esata enclosure.
The new drive was installed in seconds and I had my new raid setup in about a minute. So far I’m loving the bay enclosure. Having a very fast redundant system is nice. I wish I had done this config years ago.
I also changed out my 120mm fans for new ones with blue leds. They were $8 for a nice >40cfm with a low db rating. It doesn’t hurt that they’re the same brand as the case. I removed the internal 3.5″ hdd bay so the air flow is pretty good now.
They were in a dakine pack I don’t remember wearing the day I thought I lost them. Hooray! The Dragons are a solid second pair. Options.
So, on Tuesday morning I pulled my neck while working out in the gym (last entry). It happens; and generally sucks for a few days while the muscle repairs itself and I slowly stretch it out.
What I didn’t expect was getting sick from Jen. I’m not positive she gave me cooties, but she was cold-like based on her tales of tissue use last week so when the weekend rolled around it was out of my mind. 4.20 right? Shrug. Yesterday I spent atleast an hour of my work day just sneezing. I don’t mean, 1 sneeze.. I’m talking 10-20 in a row, brief pause and repeat.
I also went a week without using my vaporizer. Whatever I hive out from is not in the vapor mist, but is present in the smoke from the burn. I’d guess one of the ferts or maybe soil/water contain enough nickel to set me off. Shrug. Smoke bad, vape good!
Whine!
Today was the first day I went to the gym just after waking up. It was honestly enjoyable. I felt like I had more energy and other than being a little sleepy things were going good. I hadn’t been in the gym for about a week, so my shoulder had plenty of time to recover from the last session; and I was doing alright I guess. I’m adjusting to the new universal equipment; slowly.
However, I pulled the left side of my neck while doing a second set of chest presses at I think 120lbs. If it’s really 60lbs, then; I have no idea what’s going on ’cause I was pushing more than twice that back in Sudbury. Anyways, long story short … universal machines without bars is hell for a gimped limb.
Yay A535!
The new place is looking pretty good. I need a tv for the living room since my projector doesn’t work well; my screen is too big. Anyways, for the last few weeks I’ve been leeching from usenet and watching tv and movies from my bed.
I guess it happened sometime after leaving the pub with Jen on Weds after the Sens game; and leaving her place later that night. I’m pretty sure they fell out of my pocket; which makes me a dumbass ’cause I had those shades for 7 years and loved em. Sigh.
Yesterday I found a pair of Dragon, Chrome model in black/black. They’re a pretty nice replacement. I checked out the local Rayban options and was let down with the selection, build quality and price. Everything felt like $5 glasses. Lame.
The new home team is out of the playoffs. First round, and they started the year off so strong. Sigh.
Go Habs Go!
I caught the game at a bar called Hooleys with Jen and her friends Celine and Becca. First time meeting Becca; she seems pretty cool. A little conservative maybe.
