Finally setup the table and chairs

New table set

I’m starting to really like the subtle changes around the apartment now that I’m single again. I need to find a cool mirror, and some nice floor lights; or atleast a light and I need more plants.

The appointment has been made!

Next Friday (Nov 9th) at 2pm I shall be getting my fingers tattooed and I can’t wait. I’ll just have to distract myself for a week with boring things like, work and chores and occasionally socializing when I can get away from work and chores.

Audio at the office is in transition

CMOY Amp

I found cmoy headphone amps on the weekend. I was completely unaware of this diy circuit and various amps. It appears to completely rock! I ordered up the amp pictured above, I’m going to get a Headstage usb to mini stereo dac for hooking into the computer and I’ll get some Grado SR80s as a Christmas gift to myself.

The new years should sound great.

Tonight I get to play with adult lego!

By that, I mean Ikea furniture. I picked up my dinner set last night and the filter for the new reef tank. Setting up the filter took longer than I thought it would, but it’s a new product for me and I wanted to get everything right. Overly simple, but HUGE. The thing nearly touches the bottom of my deep tank. I moved rock a few times, and in the end I create a great stack and the filter is in the ideal position.

One annoyance is the skimmer cup blocks my light from sliding into it’s proper spot, so it’s forward by about 4cm. It’s not a big deal, but it’s annoying still.

Le sigh

It isn’t even lunch and I’ve had a mini fight at work with uh, #2? The guy above me. Being the dba, when someone asks me for an export of data they changed I have no issue giving them that data asap so they can continue on with their task. What I don’t need is that person telling me they changed a dataset, and require a full schema + relational data to give to a third party so they can continue doing their tasks based around the new dataset; which I’ve already provided.

Unless you can change a database schema and hide the fact, don’t argue with the dba. You’ll lose; and I’ll be just a little sadder that it’s Monday.

Waiting until next pay for the tats

First rocks

I picked up a new scratching post/condo for Halo, a few things for the new reef and another 12lbs of rock. No coin for tats right now. Sigh.

New tat idea

I’m thinking of getting some words on my hands. RIDE/HARD* is what I got going through my head. Gonna make some calls tomorrow to see if I can get it done.

Update: Changed it again. Definitely going with this; it was too obvious to consider first.

Blah

Having a hang over at work, that doesn’t seem to want to go away sucks. Wahhh! heh.

Update: Went to Harveys at lunch. A greasy burger helped a lot.

Too much beer?

Pentax K10D better than the Canon 40D? DPReview finally gives it credit
October 25, 2007 - 7:42 am (Photography)

There isn’t a single camera on the market which gains so much by shooting RAW and using Adobe Camera RAW to convert its images than the K10D. The difference is night and day and indeed the K10D in this comparison trumps the EOS 40D for detail which hints perhaps that Pentax are using a sensor with a lighter anti-alias filter (although if you look at some of the crops you can see some demosaicing artifacts).

Right on Phil. I’m glad you’re warming up the K10D.
