Went for a drive this evening

Originally we were going to go for a walk, but it was a little cool as the sun was setting so we went for a drive instead. Maegan stopped on the dirt roads across from Southview so I could take this picture.

Nature and industry.

First moon attempt

Out early

The moon was out early tonight so I tried taking a shot with my monopod and 50-200mm. I will definitely be getting the new DA* telephoto lens when it’s available.

A very cool gift

New bamboo

Kathy (Maegan’s mom) gave us a nice bamboo arrangement. Maegan decided she wanted to get a new one today, so the timing was perfect.

New headset for the Launch

Norco launch

The headset I had in the Launch was worn out; the bottom bearing cartridge was grinding. The cups where made of steel and rusting, so I decided to buy a headset off Chris. We installed it before going on a ride today and it was very smooth compared to recent rides.

Unfortunately we damaged my front shifter cable without realizing it and it broke on me during the last 1/4 of a trail ride at LU.

We went to The Outside Store and I got new cable and housing. Chris picked up a Bell helmet he had ordered.

52 million in Pinball FX

Pinball FX

Not bad for my third play of the agent table. I’m currently sitting somewhere in the middle of the just over 20,000 scores with a little over 52 million. So far it’s the highest score outta the b3s group so I’m bragging.

My ear is a bitch

Infected

Last weekend I picked up some new ear jewelry; horn carvings. One was a bit bigger than the other and was a small stretch for my ear. Instead of getting another carving that was closer to the size I wanted, I simple stretched my ear.

I’ve done it many times in the past, so I didn’t give it a second thought.

Two days later I went biking for a few hours. I woke up the next day with a bacterial infection that quickly started to spread. I was in a walk in clinic a few hours later, and was prescribed Bactroban to take care of it.

I’m hoping it’ll be cleared in a few days.

Fun friday

For the first time since my client launched their website; one of their primary dbs is offline because it’s full. I want to say “I told you so”, but watching it stay offline for hours is more entertaining. I don’t happen to manage this aspect of the database server anymore, as of a few months ago (see mention of job hunt); and yet in the 8 years that I was responsible for it we never ran out of space or had a 14GB (gigabyte) transaction log which took down all of the advertising network wide.

This has been sitting on all of the sites for atleast 3 hours now “The log file for database ‘BanManProSQL’ is full. Back up the transaction log for the database to free up some log space.

That killer backup strategy which I was against is really working out for them.

The PS3 is so ugly, the 360 is kinda sexy
April 27, 2007 - 9:51 am (PC / Console - Photography)

I’ve honestly never seen a good side by side picture. Of course I’ve seen both consoles in real life; I own a 360 and walk by PS3 kiosks often.

So, I just have to say wow. Could the PS3 be any uglier?

Switching ISPs

Fuck Unitz and their shitty service. My connection has been consistantly up and down for the last 2 months, and I’m fed up with it. It affects my ability to work from home and my voip; which would otherwise be perfect. Random dns brownouts and routing issues piss me off because it’s due to bad management decisions and b2b relations locally.

I’m moving to the root cable provider for my city, and also scoring a second cable box for my bedroom so I don’t have to be watching the same channel from the living room (repeated).
