I need four EL34, two 12AU7 and one 12AX7 for my Cayin MT-35 amp. I’m a tube n00b and know nothing about what brand/model is good. Sigh.
Today is turning into one of those days.
I ended up purchasing a full set of Electro-Harmonix from thetubestore.com
Last friday the only Canadian office for the company I work with closed because we were actually kicked out of it to make room for another tenant that wanted to do a mass expansion of floor real estate.
I’m a little bummed because I had only just started to customize the place after being in it for a few years. On the other hand, I don’t have to deal with the sunsets washing out my monitors.
I personally think closing the office is a good idea until they’re ready to hire more programmers.
I contacted NCIX’s rma department today regarding my ram rma and I was initially pissed to find out I couldn’t get an rma and my options were a refund or buy different ram. My anger was/is based on the company approving an rma they couldn’t fill. Instead of telling me this, I thought I was getting DDR500 back I bought a new mobo and vidcards (mobo was needed, vidcards weren’t).
This scenario is where it goes wrong. I got my cpu/ram 4 months ago at the end of the life cycle for the platform because ram has never disappeared like this, and it is killer value for the price. I can’t return the mobo because it was a special order, and I can’t return a video card because it’s past 30days since purchase [today]. Once that ram is out of the picture, my cpu is weak and it can’t feed 1 of the vidcards well without the overclock the ram allows.
I ended up telling NCIX that I’d buy new ram because it’s the only (reasonable) option I could find in Canada and USA. I now have to return a dimm of DDR400 to a local shop after ranting about the scenario. I shouldn’t have an issue ’cause the package is unopened and well; I buy stuff there often.
This is my new (unexpected) ram. I hope it lasts, cause I don’t have options.
I picked up a metallic red and green open brain coral today from the local saltwater shop. It’s in excellent condition and very vibrant. The colors are similiar to the one pictured above.
The lamp keeps giving me grief. It’s randomly failing when I come in from outside, so this has to be draft related and yet I cannot consistantly recreate the failure. wtf.
Rewrote an old stored procedure for an old section of the corp sites; the where clauses really suck to have, but it needs a rework and Paul’s aware that I want to update the schema.
Anyways, a simple example so I don’t forget (again) how I should do my paging. link
If I didn’t need those shitty where clauses like that, I could’ve used a table variable to lock it to the scope of execution.
Chris and the boys seemed to have pulled off a good app. I started using it yesterday for an admin tool and it seems to be doing the job quite well. link
I received a parcel containing my new lens; which happens to be very very old (‘64ish). It’s an accura Diamatic 35mm f2.8 m42 mount. From what I can see on the camera body lcd, it’s a pretty good lens.
Update: The infinity focus stops at about 10ft making it completely useless. I guess $10 doesn’t get you much, lol.
Yesterday I left Sudbury with Chris at around 9am to drive about 3 hours to Moonstone. The 6 hours of driving sucked, but the 4 hours of snowboarding was epic. Winter started, about a week ago for us. It’s been mild.
Moonstone had a great base, got around 15cm of powder Friday night and had enough high speed 4 and 6 person lifts to make the day very enjoyable.
