This morning I found a hermit crab stuck in the top; it looks like it had fallen in and the clam tried to close up which didn’t work. It’s tissue is withdrawn into the shell pretty far and it’s not looking so good. I feel bad, especially if it’s dead.
I picked up the Compaq laptop I ordered from Futureshop’s online refurb list ($499, a steal) today and after a little work at slimming it down I’m very happy. It needs some ram, which I’ll order tomorrow but otherwise it rocks. I need to put Office on it for Maegan.
We’re moving to basecamp for our work assignment. I’m excited. It’s a fugly app, but it works and if Paul likes the idea behind it then I’m for it. Anything to get away from email and word docs. *shutter*
Ken is starting this morning and my new comp isn’t ready yet. I was at the office until 10pm lastnight working on it; there’s a really annoying mouse stutter that might be usb hub related, or it’s a dma conflict with the audio driver. I’m not sure yet. The os is installed and mostly patched; just needs my apps to go in; but I also have to configure the system for Ken.
I’m thinking of renaming the account, creating a new admin level user and stripping the admin access from the current user account so it’s preconfigured for him. I just need to get my email off the box and kill my firefox password list.

Today Chris and I drove to Northbay with the intention of going just past it to Superioreef in Bonfield. The owner was closing early so he took my order over the phone and met us at a Tim Hortons in the town. Very cool guy.
Chris got a young, fat blood shrimp in excellent condition for $34.
I got a peice of candy cane metallic trumpets with 6 heads ($32), 1 crocea clam ($69), 1 peice of frogspawn with 4 heads ($24.90), 2 ricordea polyps ($10 each) and 1 adult sunrise dottyback.
I’m going to order a carpet anemone (probably green) for my clowns this week. Great price on it.
I’m hoping to pick up a carpet (maybe blue) anemone and some soft or lps corals in Northbay this Sunday. The tank is doing excellent at the moment. I removed the filter (magnum hot) to minimize splash and noise, I’m very happy I did that.
The NCIX shipment arrived yesterday while I was out at lunch, so I just went and picked it up at the local Purolator office. I fucking love the new case. It’s sexy. I’ll probably put it together tomorrow. This afternoon I moved the servers onto the (book)shelf and moved ken’s desk to my wall so we’re kinda side by side. I think the position will be good for him, as he’ll be shielded from direct sunlight.
Looking forward to next week.
The body I was waiting for is better than I had hoped according to the leaked pr. I’m definitely going to get this body when it’s available and I have the coin for it.
I ordered two Globe360 chips today for my x360 and one for Chris. He’s going to be installing them; so I’ll be giving him either weed or beer or something cause it’ll probably take a few hours.
Invited Conan and his friends, Chris, Johnathan and Shane over for the fight in 2 weeks. It should rock! The cable co. has the ppv preorder fucked up so I’m going to call em to get that cleared up.
Lastnight we went to Conan’s for a BBQ. The burgers were tasty and homemade; I believe the sausages were also. I didn’t enjoy those as much, they were kinda dry and lacked flavor. I didn’t expect those qualities based on the burgers.
After eating and drinking beer (yay beer!) we went to check out Brenden’s corn snake and Maegan held it for quite awhile. It looked very healthy. Anyways, it’s pretty cool.
