Lastnight everyone bailed on the ppv except Johnathon, which was cool. He gets along well with Maegan and I think she enjoys that. Most of the fights were great. A couple ended up being boring, with one seeming more like a slow dance than a fight.
Hughes vs Penn was intense. Hughes tried everything on Penn from take downs to face shots and Penn was able to stay up. Eventually Hughes got into his favorite position of stretching out one arm with his legs, the other with his left arm and pounding the opponent’s face. The ref was a little slow to stop the fight because of who it was.
I think I’ll do this again, dunno if I’ll invite the same people next time.
I changed the stack in the reef tank a little at both ends by repositioning the peices so they would be more useful when adding new corals in the future. I also put the skimmer on the side of the tank. It looks pretty nice now.
I got a new WGNLite 14000k bulb off ebay today. The 8000k bulb is quality, so i’m confident in this new bulb. The Current-USA bulb seems to have had a color shift or something. It just doesn’t look right.
I ended up killing two of the tinfoil barbs today during a major water change without the water conditioner. My bad. The third one is in the long tank now and appears to be fine. I think this weekend I might rebuild the planted tank and start it off with some wood and maybe moss if I’m lucky.
I finally did it. I registered this domain. I’m going to create a customizable frontend system for this with the option to allow users to register and submit photos to be held in queue, approved and sent to flickr for addition to the specified set. This will allow someone to create a frontend system for flickr with easy management with some social aspects.
I’m going to make this script/app available on avoidwork.com and develop it using this domain and my own content.
Maegan picked up a Targus mouse for the laptop today and it rocks. Very smooth with a low power led and high sensitivity. It’s rechargable thru the usb power so it’ll be charged when the laptop is plugged in.
I registered this domain with the intention of setting up a slick gallery site powered by flickr with a php/mysql backend to manage the flickr files. I’ll probably make it into an app offered on avoidwork.com if I do it well.
Joel dropped this domain like a year or two ago, and since he closed skadurz pro I doubt anyone else would think of using it for a very long time.
It’s neon green glow is unusual and amazing to look at in daylight or under blue leds at night. Much love. The dottyback is adjusting to his new home pretty well. He’s exploring and being a little more bold.
Installing the ram was very easy. It took 5 minutes total. The cpu responded well, coming out of it’s 800mhz lock and is now operating at 1.8ghz. Everything is noticably better, but the 4200rpm drive is kinda bugging me. I’ll probably order up a 7200rpm/100gb seagate drive tomorrow, or sometime in the near future.
I’d like to make this laptop a mobile workstation for me, so the hdd space and speed is sorta important.
I picked up 2 x 512mb pc3200 (ddr400) sodimms from Futureshop after work, and to my delight I was only charged for 1 dimm. I wasn’t about to point out the mistake because the cashier didn’t seem to give a damn about correcting the mistake so who am I to argue?
I’m hoping the dimms are compatible. Maegan’s using the laptop for school so I won’t know for a while.
After Paul declined working with activeCollab and Basecamp, John introduced Writely and it seems to be a hit. There’s no method for attaching files to an open “doc” but it’s pretty good otherwise.
I finished setting Ken’s workstation up this morning also. He’s using my old profile; stripped of admin rights and apps/data with shares reconfigured to work with his new account. It should be pretty easy going for him now. Avast also replaced Symantec.
