I just got back from Petsmart with 2 ghost shrimp, 2 cherry barbs and 5 large red phantom tetras. I also did a 50% water change to allow for me to replant the java fern (broken up) properly. After I did some reading I realised it was not positioned for long term growth (lack of wood to anchor to).
The trees outside on the lawn have started to bud.
The silk lantern I got Maegan for valentines day is back up and looking pretty cool.
Just setup the Current Sunpod fixture. 14000k bulb in it right now (stock), I might switch to a 6500k bulb it’s too blue after the burn in period.
It runs pretty cool. I’m very happy about that. There doesn’t seem to be much, if any ambient heat coming off the shell. The temperature under the bulb feels about 10c higher than the room; so it’s good to keep it on the legs.
My fa-f1.4 50mm is love. Halo seems to be into posing for shots; or atleast isn’t freaked out by the camera anymore. Shrug.
The Sunpod mH fixture is supposed to arrive today so I’ll take some pics once it’s setup.
Met up with Shane at Futureshop, after dropping Maegan off at the kingsway st. Subway store.
We stopped by Skadurz to say ‘yo’ to Joel; and I snapped a few decent shots.
The magura order came in on 4.20 with the hayes adapter and my fa50-1.4 lens. Super wicked day.
The added brake power is so nice.
The k2 has an 8″ rotor on the front finally and it’s looking pretty sick. Nice stiff frame, but i think next year i’ll have to replace it due to wear’n'tear.
I corrected the seat angles on both bikes.
I ordered a Current-USA Sunpod 20″ 150w fixture today. I dunno what I’m going to do with the Orbit fixture; maybe ebay it. The current mH fixture’s (Hamilton) ballast is really fucked up. It sounds unstable; so I’ll probably pull the bulb and list it on ebay and toss the fixture. I could probably do a retro fit setup with it, but then i’d have add quite a lot to reach the polish the Sunpod has.
The plants are responding amazingly well to having the mH light, so the Sunpod should be like candy to em.
Update: The fixture is due to arrive on the 28th (Friday).
I corrected the plant arrangement on monday. Today I setup the mH fixture and changed the timer to run it 9am to 5pm; with the intention of keeping it off during the weekends.
I figure this more natural timeframe will benefit the plants much more than the two cf fixtures. They’re like 5% of the output.
